Join us at Charlie’s Family Restaurant, 210 N. Ivy St, Escondido, for our regular breakfast. After breakfast, all who want to go on the Casino Run will gather in the parking lot. Here is how it works:

Every car puts $20 into the pot, which goes directly to the charity. We then drive to the first casino. We hand out route sheets, but mostly we all drive together at a quick but reasonable pace. We hit one casino at a time, and if you decide to gamble, you do so with your own money. If you lose… oh well. If you win, you put your winnings in the pot, and tell us how much you won or lost. If you would rather not gamble, you can hang out in front, or go and watch your friends. We visit four casinos, and spend twenty minutes at each one. After the last casino, we tally up the Biggest Winner, Biggest Loser, and another surprise award. Those winners get trophies. Then we have a benefit drawing, with prizes that are MINI and Mini related. Every penny goes to this year’s charity. (see below)

This year, we have an additional way to donate… if you cannot come, then you can pledge $20 (payable at the next meeting that you attend, or you can send it through Paypal) There will be a special drawing for people who pledge, and you will have the satisfaction of supporting our cause this year.

Debbie Jones, our dear member and friend, is battling a rare abdominal cancer, and our charity this year is the Cancer Research Institute. It is a top rated charity, which means that a high percentage of their donations are spent on research. Every penny collected for this Charity Run will be sent to the Cancer Research Institute, as we have always done in the past with the chosen charity.
